Welcome to Guiding Your Light.
In many ways, Kate. E Hateley has always been a writer. It was a quiet companion she kept privately since she was a little girl—though she didn’t fully realize its significance until recent years.
Years ago, two intuitives told her they saw her working with children. At the time, she had no idea what that would look like, but today, she finally understands.
Kate’s journey has led her through deep healing and inner child work. As she learned to love and heal herself, children’s books, songs, and poems began to flow—almost like gifts from her inner child and from God, the original source of light.
It is Kate’s wish that these books and products bring light, love, and healing to people all over the world. She believes our greatest love story is reconnecting with the light from which we came—and finally learning to love ourselves.
The Inspiration
It’s time to officially introduce Miss Winnie.
Winnie is a Golden Retriever, the author’s best friend, furbaby, and a truly incredible soul. She is also the inspiration and, in a way, the co-author of our first book, Winnie’s Way.
No words can fully express what she means to Kate, but creating this book with her has been an extraordinary experience. Through it, Winnie will continue to share her love and light with the world—forever.
To help you get to know her a little better, here are a few fun facts:
- Winnie loves soft toys, especially her toy puppy, which she licks and grooms as if it were real.
- She always greets visitors with a plush toy—or a teddy, a sock, or whatever else she can find nearby.
- She has a habit of “borrowing” things and proudly showing them off—most recently her Nana’s glasses case (though she’s chosen many interesting items over the years!).
- A true free spirit and slightly stubborn, she will dramatically lie down in protest if she isn’t ready to go home—much to the amusement of passersby.
- If someone coughs or gets the hiccups, she immediately alerts the family or brings a teddy to check if they’re okay; it’s a nurturing instinct that comes to her completely naturally.
- She could sit and watch the ducks all day, and sometimes she likes to just sit outside, watch the moon, and let her ears float on the wind.
